The 2020 Expert Webinar Series
The murder of George Floyd was tragic and triggered a seismic shift in how we see diversity in this country. Leadership across the accounting profession have been quick to demonstrate their commitment to diversity & inclusion. While important, it is also fleeting. So many diversity & inclusion (D&I) initiatives, strategies and programs have tried to drive meaningful change, but the profession is still majority male & white. Diversity, inclusion and culture change are uniquely challenging because they impact the entire ecosystem – firm leadership, employees, clients, vendors and the public. For D&I to be effective, it must be more than an HR program or messaging strategy. Solutions need to be people-centric, address systemic inequity, and must be aligned with an organizations overall vision, mission, & purpose.
In this webcast, Jina will share the building blocks any firm can use to develop a D&I strategy. While the specific goals, tactics & approaches may differ, the benchmarks, measures and outcomes should be the same: a culture of inclusive diversity – where everyone can show themselves fully, without fear of negative consequences to their self-image, status or career. This type of change will require everyone across your organization, at all levels and in all roles, to have a healthy relationship with conflict and the ability to comfortably navigate difficult conversations. The goal is to foster a culture where diversity is more than noticed – but also valued, measured and appreciated.
Learning Outcomes:
• Identify D&I best practices
• Learn about different D&I strategy frameworks
